When one possesses subjectivity, creativity can truly be manifested. It is about creating one's life according to one's own will. Sand art involves delicately crafting beautiful scenes, only to erase them, as well as depicting sad scenes that are also erased by my own hand. In other words, I become the creator within this canvas. The transformation from a sad scene to a joyful one resembles the attitude towards life that I aspire to. I hope that everyone can guide their own life with their own will, which is also my value and approach to living. I believe that sand art embodies the power and courage to achieve this. Regardless of the situation faced, I aim to depict the determination to lead my life proactively and the inner process of growth.
In addition to sand art, I also engage in drawing performances, where I create art at sites of state violence or historical locations. This not only remembers the events that took place but also conveys a social message to prevent such events from recurring, while also expressing the broader meaning of human maturation. In this sense, I view art as a kind of ritualistic act. Art, irrespective of genre or framework, is about expressing oneself as a proactive and creative individual. Although the methods of expression, such as sand art and drawing performances, vary, the essence of what I wish to convey through art remains the same. This is why I describe myself as a healing artist.
