작가는 인간의 감정, 지각, 감각에 기반한 소통에서 시작해서 지금은 보다 근원적인 물음인 우연성과 무작위성에 대해서 탐구하고 있다. 디지털 미디어가 지닌 차가운 속성과 비물질적인 것에서 비롯된 공허함과 흥미, 효과 위주의 자극적인 방식을 지양하며 따듯하고, 감성적인 작업을 목표로 하고 있다.
그의 작품 < 식물로봇 >은 바람이 숲을 만나 소리를 만들어내는 자연현상에서 영감을 받아 기획되었다. 온도, 습도, 조도 센서를 내장한 식물로봇 모듈과 인공 태양으로 구성된 식물로봇은 주위 환경을 인식하여 실시간으로 움직임과 소리를 생성한다. 때문에 관객은 플래시라이트로 식물로봇의 변화를 유도하여 자연과 기술이 어우러진 생태계를 체험할 수 있다.
The artist begins with communication based on human emotions, perception, and senses, and is now exploring more fundamental questions of chance and randomness. Moving away from the cold, immaterial emptiness and the stimulating, effect-driven methods of digital media, he aims to create warm, emotional work.His piece, Plant Robot, is inspired by the natural phenomenon where the wind creates sounds as it interacts with the forest. The Plant Robot consists of a module with embedded temperature, humidity, and light sensors, and an artificial sun. This setup allows the plant robot to perceive its surroundings and generate movements and sounds in real-time. As a result, viewers can use a flashlight to induce changes in the plant robot, experiencing an ecosystem where nature and technology intertwine.
